Tradition
For decades, the Pennsbury School District — with the commitment of its students, teachers, school administrators, school district leaders, parents, and community — has consistently maintained one of the region's most successful Instrumental Music Programs.In April 2009, Pennsbury was named one of the nations top 100 music programs.
The Curricular Bands
Each school year Pennsbury instrumental student musicians, from grades 4 through 12, participate in numerous curricular bands. Students participate in these bands during school hours and receive school credit.

Extracurricular Bands
The Pennsbury Instrumental Music Program features renowned extracurricular bands, including its Marching Band, nicknamed the Long Orange Line, and its premiere jazz band, the Pennsbury Concert Jazz Band (PCJB). Both the Long Orange Line and PCJB have appeared at venues throughout the United States and the world: including China, France, Canada & Japan.
Mission Statement
The Pennsbury Instrumental Music Department, a student-centered learning community, will prepare each member to achieve his or her highest potential and to demonstrate skills and talents necessary for quality of life by providing a musically diverse program with the involvement and support of families and community.
