The Pennsbury High School Marching Band
The Pennsbury Marching Band is internationally recognized as one of the premier High School Bands in the United States. The “Long Orange Line” has been an integral part of the Pennsbury Instrumental Music Program since its inception in 1949. The Pennsbury Marching Band has performed at many featured Bowl Games and Parades including the Fiesta Bowl Parade in Phoenix, Arizona (2003), Hollywood Christmas Parade and Hollywood Bowl (2000), the King Kamehameha Parade in Honolulu, Hawaii (1998), the Orange Bowl Parade in Miami, Florida (1995), and the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California (1986).
The band has the honor of being the only foreign musical ensemble to perform at Beijing's Tiananmen Square, and also upon the Great Wall in the People’s Republic of China (1988). The band has performed at all four of the five Walt Disney theme parks, including California, Florida, Paris France and Tokyo, Japan and Hong Kong. They have received an invitation to perform at the Disneyland Park in Hong Kong in 2008 (depending on School Board approval). The Pennsbury Marching Band has performed for numerous events for the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles, and 76ers. The Long Orange Line on Thanksgiving Day, 2008 will have performed for 25 straight years as the Honor Band for the IKEA Channel 6, Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The 2006 Pennsbury Marching Band was the United States Scholastic Band Association Group VI A first place Champions.
