Pennsbury Concert Jazz Band Schedule

Feruary 29,2008 -

West Chester University High School Jazz Ensemble festival

The performance set included Odd Man Out, I Gotta Right to Sing the Blues, and Little Pixie -  band directed by Jon Rees.

Awards:

Outstanding Soloists were Ryan Shubert, Matt Adler, AJ Frank, and Zach Drummond

Best Sections were Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, and Rhythm sections (that’s a sweep)

March 12, 2008 -

Temple University Jazz Festival, Philadelphia  

Students will participate in clinics during this festival and will also have an opportunity to perform.  Student report time is 8:00am at PHS (band room).

The Band is scheduled to perform at 1:30pm at the Howard Gittis student center on main campus.

Awards:

Students played Odd Man Out, Blue Ramble, and Little Pixie - Jon Rees directed.
Students also worked with clinicians Bruce Barth, Luis Bonilla, Scott Brown, Craig Ebner, Steve Fidyk, Dick Oatts, Madison Rast, and Terell Stafford.
Matt Adler was presented with a scholarship for his outstanding work as
soloist. Ryan Shubert was also recognized.
